All-round tech enthusiast, slight geek, devoted father for two boys.
20+ years of IT experience with some of the best companies in the world (Cisco, AT&T and VMware), ready for any new challenge that comes.

Who am I..
Hi, My name is Gary Day, I’m currently a Staff Architect at VMware working in the PSO NFV (Network Functions Virtualisation) team, I’ve been at VMware since August 2015.
Prior to VMware I started my career at Cisco, starting in the TAC, evolving through Advanced Services, Pre-Sales Consultancy and Consulting SE – spending most of the those 17 (yes really 17) years working for service providers across EMEA, 10 of those 17 years were spend working out of Dubai.
In between Cisco and VMware I spent a couple of great years with AT&T Services in Denmark where still reside with my wife and two boys…
You can see the certifications I hold here, also I’m working on increasing these – priorities, priorities ! 🙂
Main interests
Lets get the whole work interest out of the way, naturally I have a strong gravitation towards NSX within VMware due to my networking background, but I also enjoy learning all things technology, new vSphere, NSX, k8s, VCD, VIO etc… I have a nice homelab that i’m not afraid to break (and frequently I do)
Aside from work I also enjoy:
Mountain Biking, Swimming, Movies, Pool, Poker, Football (watching not playing .. lol) as well I’m a keen reader of not only tech books but a wide-range on non-fiction topics.
